Marathon, World Athletics Elite Platinum Label Race, the largest half marathon and 8K in the Netherlands – European running classic in Amsterdam

The Amsterdam Marathon is an annual marathon and half marathon race in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The official name is TCS Amsterdam Marathon. About 35,000 athletes take part in the 42.195 km marathon and satellite races (13,494 participants completed the marathon distance and 14,749 athletes ran the half marathon in 2019).
The Amsterdam Marathon has the platinum mark of the International Association of Athletics Federations (World Athletics Elite Platinum Label Race).

The first Amsterdam marathon took place on August 5, 1928 during the Summer Olympics. There were no marathons in Amsterdam after the Olympics until the race was reinstated in 1975 and has been held every year since then (with the exception of 1978 due to the poor condition of the Olympic Stadium).

Frankfurt am Main (or simply Frankfurt) is a city in central Germany on the banks of the Main River, a major financial center that houses the European Central Bank and the Federal Bank of Germany. The famous writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was born here, in whose house a museum is now open. Most of the city’s buildings were damaged during World War II and reconstructed in the post-war years. In the Altstadt (Old Town) lies the Römerberg square, where the Christmas market opens every year.
It was first held in 1981. Gold status according to the IAAF road racing scoring system.
The Frankfurt Marathon is the oldest city marathon in Germany. This is the second largest marathon in Germany.

The route passes through the whole of Frankfurt. The route is considered fast. The total elevation difference is 27.8 m.

Together with Berlin and Hamburg, it is in the top 3 fastest marathons in the country. Flat fast track with a Kipsang record of 2:03:42.
The start of the marathon is located near the sculpture of the Scoring Man (Messeturm), which is the symbol of the marathon.
The finish line is on the red carpet at Frankfurt Messe. Almost all 42 km of the active support of the audience.
