Reviews about the marathon:

  • I have run the Karradokio 4 times. The course is very diverse, ranging from forests, hills, and rocks to sandy trails. It's a beautiful route that runs along the UNESCO Heritage National Park. The organization is at a very high level, with food stations offering a whole buffet and comfortably spaced out. The course is well-marked, plus there's excellent merchandise and a pasta party that's a whole event in itself: a real celebration under the open sky.

The race takes place in October. It can be quite hot, so you need to be prepared for cold mornings and scorching midday heat. For a 38 km trail, the course is perfect with a moderate elevation gain. For those who want to run their first ultramarathon, the 63 km distance is very comfortable.

City: The race starts from the small town of Ürgüp, but it's only 10 km to the main attraction (the UNESCO park and hot air balloons).

Also, it's a relatively budget-friendly event, including flights and accommodation.
